The weather forcast is changing quite often but we are positive because is was always better than forecasted the last days.
For friday we are still unsure so we will have to wait till tomorrow 12:00 if we will start on friday or saturday.

3. Ikarus Open August 14th - 16th 2020 Werfenweng / Austria


CIVL-Cat. II competition, joined by the Austrian and German Paragliding League. 

Organized by FSC Ikarus Abtenau on behalf of Austrian Paragliding League /  Austrian Aeroclub.




Local Rules

Competition rules:
Competition rules in this order: 
1. Invitation / notice at headquarter 
2. Austrian Aero Club, Section Para and Hang Gliding in the respective applicable version.
3. FAI Section 7

Participation requirements:
Each pilot must have a helmet, a rescue parachute, a certified harness, a GPS device for scoring, 
a valid  pilot license, a FAI sporting license and a third party liability insurance (€  1.500.000,-) valid in Austria. If you need an third party liavility insurance, you will have the chance to make a contract on the first competition day. 
Only certified gliders are allowed. 
The local regulations of the Austrian Aeroclub, the FAI sporting code and the local flight regulations must be accepted.

Participates:
150 participates allowed as maximum
65 reserved places for each Paragliding league from:
Austrian League
German League

Registration : 
Online-Registration at the website

The Online-Registration is open until June 15th, 2020.
On June 16th, 2020 the final selection will take place. Selected pilots will receive an e-mail with payment instructions on June 16th. The payment has to be done within 10 days, account; FSC Ikarus Abtenau, IBAN: AT70 3500 1000 0004 3570. Not selected pilots will move to the waiting list. 

Documentation:
Documentation only with GPS, Flymaster - Tracker, GPS-Tracklog. 

Upload by participant:
Free WLAN at the headquarter - send us your tracklog with e-mail or upload it to our server. 

GPS download due to the organizer:
If you are not able to send us your tracklog, we will do the GPS download for you. Please bring you GPS cable. 

Protest:
Protests may be made 30 minutes after the official competition scoring in written form. Protest fee of € 36 has to be paid at once.

Camping:

There will be a separate parking for campers (and tents) at the bottom station of the mountain railways. They offer power (bring your own cables) and sanitary facility. You might have to pay some small amount to the owner of the restaurant for the power. 

Please do not any other parking area for camping!


Selection and entry fee

Entry fee:

€ 97,- by money transfer (if selected - see above)

or € 120,- in cash on the first competition day, as long as there are places available.

The entry fee has to be paid as soon as you receive the e-mail from the organizer. (see “Registration”).

Basically the organizer will not refund the entry fee to nonappearance pilots.

In case the competition has to be canceled due to bad weather € 85,- of the entry fee will be refunded, the remaining € 12,- will be used for the expenses of the organizer.

Cancellation:

Final decision on Wednesday August 12th, 2020, 12:00 a.m. announced at this page.

In case of bad weather, the competition could be shortened day by day (e. g.: Announcement on Wednesday, 12:00 a.m. that Friday is canceled).



Competition schedule

Program:
3 scheduled tasks. Task setting according official competition rules depending on weather conditions.

Friday, August, 14th:
Registration from 7:30 - 09:00 a.m.
9:00 a.m. Pilots welcome, briefing, weather forecast, poll of Safety and Task committee
10:30 a.m. Task briefing, start to Task 1


Saturday, August 15th.:
