The Air Club of Pella, under delegation from E.L.A.O. organizes an FAI cat2 paragliding competition, named Greek Championships -Voras Open 2020, lasting seven days, 16 till 22 of August in Palios Agios Athanasios region of Edessa and invite all clubs to take part in it.

Clubs wishing to participate with athletes in this race are invited to send completed the relevant form to the organizer (Pella Aeroclub) and the E.L.A,O. and EAP no later than 10 of August 2020.

Individual entries for the race can be done but this does not replace the obligation for clubs to send the aforementioned centralized athletes list.

Maximum number of participants: 75 pilots.

Take off: 1.Kerasies (D02) 2. Agios Athanasios (D04)

'Kerasies' take-off is the most famous take-off of our Club in the area of the Prefecture of Pella.

It is located at an altitude of 1620m on the west side of the 60 km of the mountain range of Vora that embraces the plain of Almopia and the plain of Vegoritida and together with the terms Pinovo, Jenna, Askio and the mountain range of Paiko and Vermio creates an ideal place for flights. And racing triangles, also has a very good tilt, is covered with grass and fits comfortably twenty or more developed paragliders.

It is thrown mainly with Southern, SE, SW and A winds, it is not particularly affected by the low intensity of the North or the NE wind.

The area has thermal activity from early spring to mid-autumn and the flight can be long hours with very well organized heat.

The accommodation of the athletes can be done with a camp in a space that has showers and toilets in Old Agios Athanasios which will be the HQ of the race. (Consultation with the organizers).

Selection and entry fee

Pilots' documents and equipment required:

- Valid FAI sporting license and CIVL number
- Pilot licence
- Signed Release of Liability Document
- Medical insurance covering paragliding (proof will be checked at competition registration)
- Third party liability insurance covering paragliding (proof will be checked at competition registration)
- VHF radio 2m
- Certified helmet and rescue parachute
- Compatible GPS with cable for connection to PC

Participation fee is: 120.00 euros

Important: Pilots can deposit of their participation till 16/8/2020 in the following account, or pay the whole amount of money cash, when registering for the race on site.

20 places are reserved for the first non-Greek pilots. (FAI rule for Cat2 comps).

- 5 additional seats are reserved for guests of the organizers.

Guests

There may be a limited number of visitors to the event and this will depend on the number of entries in the race.

The takeoffs of the pilots-visitors will take place after consultation with the organizers so as not to disturb the takeoffs or flights of the competitors.

The retrieve will take place on main roads within the time frame of the race and within the covered area (task) of the race.

There will be no multiple prizes in the race, whichever athlete is distinguished in more than one category, he will receive the prize of the only top category
