     Who would have thought watching so many pilots struggling in front of launch just after the start that so many would make it, but once they hit the down wind leg after turn point two it was much easier in the fully down wind leg.

     The first 40 pilots have now all passed the end of speed section. What a close fast race, amazing.

     The pilots came into end of speed section fairly high so will have had no problems getting to goal 2 km away.

     3 km to go, they are on final glide, within sight of the end of speed section this is going to be neck and neck between Xavier, Aaron, Rafael, Primoz and Francisco.

     Spanish pilot Xavier Barricarte has pulled into the lead, he did very well in the PWC in Portugal coming 7th overall.

     Acro champion Felix Rodriguez is right there with the lead gaggle too, this is going to be a neck and neck finish with very little in it.

     The lead gaggle are about half way along the last leg nearing the end of speed section with Maxime Pinot and Primoz Susa leading out at the moment, closely followed by former world champion Luca Donini.

     Top women pilots Nicole Fedele and Laurie Genovese, both former women's super final winners, are right at the top too giving everyone a run for their money,

     Rafael Saladini, one of Brazil's top pilots is right at the front too having set a new open distance record of 564 km in Brazil in October last year after flying for 11 hours.

     120 pilots are all in one thermal all within about 200m of each other just in front of launch. This is going to be a very close race.

     The start is an exit cylinder at turn pt 1. This means that they need to go into the cylinder then leave as soon as they can after 13 h.

     Most of the pilots are in a big gaggle right above launch trying to survive for 5 more minutes before racing 750 m to the start where there is less lift.

     Base is still just above hill height at 1500 m with a N.E wind. There is still a lot of cumulus but it isn't forecast to over develop.
