Dear Pilots! The weather looks very good for Lungau Open! Tomorrow there will be clouds because of heavy rain today. At the moment we aren't sure if a task is possible, but we will see tomorrow. Competition rules:
Competition will be held according to the FAI CIVL Sporting Code and the Austrian Competition rules.
Participation requirements:
• Valid paragliding license with cross-country permit, valid FAI Sporting license
• Certified and checked glider with valid liability insurance, glider must also conform to rules of Austrian Paragliding League
• Helmet, rescue and back protector!
• Anti-Doping rules have to be observed!
• Maximum number of participants: 100 pilots (65 Austrian, 25 International, 10 Newcomer + DFC Members)
• If the maximum number of pilots is reached on 15. July pilots will be selected according to WPRS (World Pilot Ranking System of FAI), if max. number is not reached on 15. July, pilots will be selected according "first come - first serve"
Liability:
All pilots fly under their own responsibility.
It is each pilot’s responsibility to take all necessary actions to maintain their own safety during the competition and to ensure that they do not act in any way that might endanger any other pilots during the competition. It is a condition of entry to the event for all pilots to accept without restriction to hold the organisers / owners of take-off and landings blameless, and waive all claims to compensation. The participation at the competition, transfers, retrieve and general program is at your own risk!
Competition tasks:
The competition is planned for 4 tasks. The tasks will be set by the race committee based on the daily weather forecast directly before the start of the task. Participation to briefing is mandatory (English briefing /weather briefing on demand)
Cancellation of competition:
Till Friday, 2017-08-11 at 12am it will be definitely decided if the competition will be hold or cancelled due to weather restrictions. This will be published at the website http://www.livetrack24.com/events/LO2017/en and the Facebook-page of the competition https://www.facebook.com/events/745201592324391/
Documentation and scoring:
The use of GPS systems for documentation of the flights is mandatory. Compilation and scoring according to the rules of the Austrian paragliding league. A fit for purpose computer connecting cable needs to be provided by the participant. (most common cables are available)
Complaint and protest:
Complaint in written form free of cost within 30 min. after display of unofficial results.
Protest in written form and payment of protest fee within 30 min. after display of official results.
Protest fee: € 36,- Protest fee to the ONF € 73,- according to Austrian competition rules.

Area Info & Activities
The 32nd pilots party of DFC Lungau takes place at the landing field from Saturday till Sunday. More information to that event at www.dfc-lungau.com or on the Facebook-event-page https://www.facebook.com/events/745201592324391/
Parking places are located north of the street, it is also possible to camp there for free. Toilets are placed at the event location. It is strictly NOT allowed to swim in the lakes near the event (private property), but it’s possible to go for a bath in the Mur about 300m to south. The kitchen and the bar will be open every day of competition.

Registration:
Only here at www.livetrack24.com/events/LO2017 until 2017-07-16. If the competition is booked out, a selection according to WPRS will follow, afterwards you will get an E-Mail with confirmation and a request to pay the Entry fee until 2017-07-31. If you don’t observe these dates your starting place will get lost. After that date a registration is only possible at the beginning of the competition according to the motto “First Come, First In”. Every pilot has to finally sign in at competition weekend at the competition office club cottage of DFC Lungau (Friday, 11th August, from 7 to 9pm and Saturday, 12th August from 7 to 9am).
Entry fee:
Overall, Sport, Women Class € 120,- | Newcomer Class and DFC member € 70,‐
After selection and confirmation the Entry Fee has to be transferred to the bank account of DFC Lungau (see below) until 2017-07-31. The registration is only valid after paying the full entry fee!
Refund:
• No refund of entry fee if pilot is missing at the competition.
• Cancellation of competition: € 110 Overall, Sport, Women Class; € 60 Newcomer Class and DFC member
• per cancelled task: € 30 Overall, Sport, Women Class; € 15 Newcomer Class and DFC member (only if task is cancelled before transport to takeoff), money will only be refunded in bar to present pilots at prize giving ceremony on Tuesday
